Inviting unit owners

Inviting a unit owner gives them access to the Fourplex resident portal for their unit. They can view HOA documents, pay dues, RSVP to meetings, and manage their own account from there.

Two ways to invite a unit owner

When adding a new unit: During the Add unit flow, you can enter one or more owner email addresses before clicking Add. Fourplex sends the invitation emails as soon as the unit is created. See Adding units for the full steps.

From an existing unit's detail page: If you skipped owner invitations when creating the unit, or if ownership changes and you need to add a new owner later:

1. Go to Units in the sidebar and open the unit.
2. Find the Owners section on the unit detail page.
3. Click Invite owner.
4. Enter the owner's email address.
5. Click Send invite.

What the owner receives

The owner gets an email invitation with a link to join your HOA on Fourplex. When they click the link:

1. If they don't already have a Fourplex account: they'll create one.
2. If they already have a Fourplex account from another HOA: they'll be signed in and connected to your HOA.

Once they complete setup, they appear as an active owner for that unit and can access the resident portal.

How to resend an invitation

If an owner says they didn't receive the email, check that the address you entered is correct, then resend:

1. Open the unit detail page.
2. Go to the Owners section.
3. Find the pending invite and click Resend.

A new invitation email is sent. Previous invite links are invalidated when a new one is sent.

Inviting multiple owners to one unit

You can invite more than one person to a unit. Each co-owner gets their own Fourplex account and their own portal access. Invites are sent individually, and each person accepts on their own.

What if the person is already a member?

Use Add owner → Existing member from the unit detail page. Search for the member, choose whether they are the primary owner or a co-owner, and confirm.

Existing members get access immediately. Fourplex sends them an email letting them know the unit was added to their account.

Use Transfers only when a unit has been sold and the prior owner should lose access.
