How to add a unit to your HOA on Fourplex.

Adding units

Any board member can add a unit to your HOA. When you add a unit, you can optionally invite its owners at the same time so they receive a portal access email right away.


How to add a unit

  1. Go to Units in the sidebar.
  2. Click Add unit.
  3. Enter the unit number (for example, 101 or Unit A).
  4. Enter the street address for the unit.
  5. Optionally add one or more owner email addresses in the Owners section. Each owner you add here will receive an invitation email.
  6. Click Add.

When the unit is created successfully, you'll see a confirmation screen. If you added owners, the screen lists who was invited and confirms the invitation emails were sent.


What happens when you add owners inline

If you enter owner emails during the add flow, each person receives an email invitation to join their HOA on Fourplex. They click the link in that email to create a Fourplex account and gain access to the resident portal for that unit.

You don't have to invite owners at the time you create the unit. You can add them later from the unit detail page. See Inviting unit owners for details.


What if I've reached my plan's unit limit?

Your Fourplex plan includes a maximum number of units. When you try to add a unit and you're already at that limit, a plan-limit screen appears. It explains your current plan and links to billing so you can upgrade if you need more capacity.

Archived units do not count toward your limit. If you have units that are no longer active, archiving them frees up capacity. See Archiving a unit for how to do that.


Can I import units in bulk?

Bulk import is not yet available directly in the app. If you need to add many units at once, email hello@getfourplex.com and the team can assist.
